In order to promote the excellent Chinese traditional culture and patriotism spirit, and enhance the national cultural confidence, School of Marxism organized theactivity called"Reading with Love on the Dragon Boat Festival"in the new era civilization practice station in Changzheng Village of Dalu Town. Sun Xuhong, deputy director of the ideological and political education (teacher-training) department, togrther with the 2019 undergraduate students,took part in this activity.

At the beginning of the activity, Ms. Wang Bei, a national level 2 psychological counselor and speech coach, shared the book“78”Days of 77 Peoplewith students, and recreated the specific history of the epidemic periodthrough interactions of on-site games and sharings of reading comprehensions, which was overwhelmingly frightening and shocking, conveyed the positive social and aesthetic values.

Afterwards, Comrade Xu Changrong, a model worker of Jiangsu Provinceand an old party member, encouraged students with his own experience and perception to work moreactively, study harder and contribute to society. Finally, the party volunteers told the students about the origins, legends and customs of Dragon Boat Festival, and taught them how to make rice dumplings andscented bags. The students felt the unique charm of traditional culture in a joyful atmosphere.

Through this activity, the students enjoyed the touching stories of the selfless devotees of Zhenjiang, a city of great love, and they also felt the rich traditional festival atmosphere in the ardent life of people. The students were excited to say that, as future preparatory members of the people's teachers, they should learn to do their works, love their jobs, and excel in their areas, be the inheritors of excellent traditional culture, and write a new chapter of education with their youth and passion.
